12th Annual Webby Awards

We have officially taken the plunge and entered QuantumDelta.com in the 12th annual webby awards. We discussed doing it last year, but didn't really have a site worthy of entering. However, with the new quantumdelta.com, it appears that our new corporate site is worthy of competing against some of the others out there.
We've entered the site in the Corporate Communications category. Last year, the winner in this category was MGM Grand Hotel & Casino www.mgmgrand.com. Which is well deserved, it is a great site. Some of the others who where Honerees in this category where Coca-Cola Enterprises Corporate Website cokecce.com, Johnnie Walker Corporate Website http://www.johnniewalker.com.tw, Conran www.conran.com and 2Advanced Studios V.5 "Attractor" www.2advanced.com to name a few. Nominees included Adobe Corporate Website www.adobe.com, Digital Digm Website www.d2.co.kr, Kellogg's 100 www.kelloggs100.com, and "Would You Like a Website" www.WouldYouLikeAWebsite.com. That's some serious competition!
Our site isn't near as flashy as many of these are, but it is easy to navigate, communicates our message well and there is a bit of "flashyness" to our site. We wanted to make sure our site was easy for our potential customers to use. We didn't want "flashy" to get in the way of that. IMHO, many things are "cool" to do on the web, but don't make a lot of business sense. Being a business site that is geared toward other businesses, we had to be careful about that.
It's great to have something we feel is worthy of competing this year. Wish us well!
